      Ontopical 2.0 Changelog

      This is a feature changelog for Ontopical 2.0, created to share new features and the dates they were added with customers and users.

      January 16, 2023: 

      New improvements: 

      • PDF Viewer has been expanded to show all pages with highlights, not just the top 5

      • Bookmarks/Share/Download functionality has been moved to our new “export” component.

        • Your notes/tags automatically populate for a document if you have bookmarked it

        • The PDF/Raw text viewer for PDF documents is now more visible instead of being hidden in a drop-down menu

        • The Copy Link (formerly share) and Download buttons have been moved to the export component

      • SummaryAI is now in beta!

        • SummaryAI summarizes the document for you and adds the summary to your Bookmarks! It also identifies key terms within the documents and suggests up to 5 tags you can add.

        • While in Beta this tool is currently limited to Enterprise clients.

      Patch ups:

      • A number of bugs relating to alert creation and editing were deployed over the past two weeks.

        • Expected results now work even if that search term has never returned a result before

        • Expected results defaults to your original selection

        • Removing a single location selection no longer removes all locations

        • Population ranges now include a “clear” button to remove it, as well as properly formatting all inputs with commas (e.g. 1,000 instead of 1000)

      December 13, 2022:

      New improvements!

      • You can now create new alerts from the Alerts Page.

      • When you click on an Alert from the email, you will be redirected to the correct Alert, even if you need to log in first.

      • You can jump to the exact page of a highlight within a document by clicking on it within the search card (the background will turn pink as you hover over it).

      • A show more button has been implemented for mobile devices to expand highlights in search results.

      • The new page viewer component within the document page in full screen allows you to navigate and find information quickly. This includes showing highlights from each page and quickly jumping to the first page to find agenda items and contacts.

      • Left and right navigation icons are shown on the document to go back and forward on pages.

      • A current page number indicator has been added to the top right of documents.

      • The red dot on the Alerts button tells you when you have unread alerts

      • The Alerts page displays a loading element instead of "No Alerts" when loading

      December 6, 2022: 

      Improvements!

      • Meeting videos are scored differently from PDFs, making them easier to find with alerts and search

      • Negation or "exclude from search" has been improved to help you remove specific words from your alert and search results to eliminate noise

      • We’ve added a “per page” feature to flip through pages of results on the search page, the same as you have experienced on the Alerts page.

      • Cards expand on hover with smooth animation, to show you more highlights. The cursor will also change to indicate if there are more highlights for that document.

      • You can now apply multiple filters at the same time to your alert documents

      • An “X” button has been added to the search bar to clear your last search

      • Your last search now only shows on the search and document page

      • The messages you see in the top right corner of the screen on certain actions now disappear quicker and close immediately when you click anywhere

      • It is easier to find your way "back" with breadcrumbs. They show up when you open a document or video to indicate where in the app you are for easier navigation.

      • The layout for videos and their transcriptions has been improved for iPad users

      • The counter for new alerts has been moved beside the daily, weekly, and total documents buttons to ensure it’s not lost in alerts with long names

      • Clicking on the name of the alert in the breadcrumbs of the alert documents page now opens up the edit alert screen

      • An “Open in Search” button has been added to the alert documents page to allow you to jump back into your search.

      • You can now see the keywords and filters applied in an alert on the alert documents page

      • Better response messages for empty inboxes and searches

      • You can now zoom further in on the locations map with filters, allowing you to create more detailed and granular sales or marketing territories

      Patch Ups!

      • An issue where the select all function for document alerts would select only portions of documents with a filter applied has been resolved

      • The current document no longer appears in the "also from location" sidebar element

      • "Empty" searches no longer appear in recent searches


      November 28, 2022: 

      Features

      • Several improvements have been made to alerts to streamline your workflow, including:

        • Documents for alerts have been moved to a new page dedicated just to the results of that alert. By clicking on an alert, users will access a page with all of the documents collected from a specific alert

        • Alert documents also feature the ability to edit an alert, clear all documents from an alert, and navigate back to the main alert page (with the person you had selected) easily using breadcrumbs

        • The “infinite scroll” on the alert documents page has been replaced by a “per page” method to help you retain your place better and limit the content/scrolling on the screen. The page navigator also sticks to the bottom of your screen, so it’s always within reach

        • The drop-down menu on alert document cards has been removed and replaced by a delete icon

        • Mark as read (both in bulk and individually) has been removed

        • Clicking into a document in alerts will now have a "back to alerts" button that will take you back to the exact page you were on, including any filters you had previously applied, so you don't lose your work

        • The button displaying the count of new documents in the alerts email will direct you to your alert documents page for that alert and filter by new.

        • Account admins can now access any other user’s alerts to view, update and manage their alerts.

        • Alerts are now ordered by the date they were created, with the most recent one first

        • The search bar for alerts is now persistent, no matter how many alerts you have set.

      • Dropdown select boxes have gotten a style update

      • The chatbot has been removed from mobile as it was covering portions of the site.

      Bug Fixes

      • Fixed a bug where some account administrators were unable to assign alerts to members of their team.

      Search & Relevancy

      • The “-” symbol can now be used to exclude words and phrases from searches to help you refine your results

      • Alerts are now only triggered for documents that are less than two weeks from their publication.

      November 22, 2022: 

      Features

      • Users can now re-send confirmation emails both individually and for all unconfirmed users in an account

      Bug Fixes

      • Preset filters no longer exclude regions during searches

      • iPhone users will be able to properly view dates

      • Several improvements for alerts have been made, including the “mark as read” feature and email notifications for new alerts.

      • Bugs relating to tags have been remedied as well to make editing bookmarks easier

      • A bug for applying regions to searches through preset filters was discovered and fixed

      • A fix for a bug where users couldn’t update the profile of others in their account was fixed

      Content/Data

      • The “minimum must match” requirement has been removed from search. Now you can include as many conditionals as you’d like to make more broad-based searches and alerts!
